This is a Kawasaki Ninja 250 that HapaD mentioned in his comments to the post about the Hyosung Comet 250.
I’ve heard mostly bad things about this bike (The Comet) stateside. People purchase it with vital components missing, it gives a lot of false neutrals and is a little heavy for a 250. ninja is the way to go. Can’t argue with the time tested kawi enjine.
From a quick look at the specs, both bikes are about the same weight 165KG for the Ninja to 150KG for the Comet. However the Ninja has a quite bit more grunt with 32.5 BHP compared to 27 BHP for the Comet.
Specs below are for the US version which will be slightly different to that in New Zealand.
This bike in the picture was parked a few streets down from where I work.

I’m not nearly cool enough to own one of these. But I can stare!
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog.
Just the lines on that bike make it look fast…
That’s a beautiful bike. Great picture.
Well thats what i call a bike. What about the price?
That surely will be my future bike. :D
Found your site on digital point forums.
Cool post.
Nice bike. What’s the top speed?
This bike is simply sexy.I wish I can sometime in future buy this kind of bike but I think the way I am earning it might take another 20 years.
that is one rad bike. very nice.
I have owned some of the biggest bikes out there, ie suzuki bandit 1200 etc. After riding the ninja 250 i didnt care if i ever rode the bigger bikes again. Never had so much fun riding, its amazing what this little bike will do all day long. Bought one recently and will never let it go. too much fun for this much money!
It is bikes like this that I can’t wait for a Snow Crash feature length film. There was a high speed sword fight on motorcycle chase, and that bike wouldn’t be perfect.
very sexy bike. i’m thinking of getting one. not sure i can offerd this one but it looks great. thanks for sharing.
I am crazy about bikes and this one is one of my hot favorite. If you give me a choice between a hot girl and a bike like this then the choice would be definitely the bike.
Wow man, nice bike. I would love to have one of these. i used to ride a 1986 kawasaki bike, 100CC. This would be a major improvement :)
I’ve always wanted a bike like that.
I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a Ninja in my future. My friends make fun of me for wanting a 250 (they insist real men start on a 600+ sports bike…no thanks!), but I think its great.
This is a gorgeous effect of human ingenuity, engineering and sense of style. one of the most beautiful machines out there, and has the power to back up the looks with performance. Two thumbs up!
Wow, the design of this baby is fantastic. I love when Ninja’s come in green color though. But I wouldn’t mind having this one, of coruse ;)
Whoa — that’s a sweet machine, sexy and sassy (and I’m a woman, mind you!). Luv the sleek lines. And, I’d love to have one for my hubby, but he’s more of a Harley dude! :-)

Though to me Ducati is still the greatest, this one looks amazing!
That is beautiful. It looks so sleek. I love how your eye just flows over it, and they didn’t even have to throw bright yellow paint on it to make you look!
If this is anything like the Ninja 900 that I had, then this is an amazing bike. Kawasaki’s are totally sweet! And that one is not exception! Thanks for the pix!

Ninja 250R?? I didn’t know these existed. I presume it is only available in Japan? Maybe gray market elsewhere? Anyway this must be a hoot to ride, this thing must rev to 16 000 RPM :))
My dream is to own a bike someday, although I have had friends and familys who have been involved in serious accidents with bikes, but honestly the Kawasaki Ninja 250 looks awesome :)
“the Comet” is not that bad as HapaD mentioned.. I seen some good reviews and I wanted to buy a Kawasaki …
Each bike has a voice of its own..

I thought this manufacture had everything nailed down? It’s obvious they haven’t and they need to address the issues urgently. I’d be prity angry if my new bike turned up with missing parts!
This is something you never get with a Harley!

Thats a 600 not a 250 idiot
that is not a 250. its a 600. 250 looks similar though but doesnt have underseat exhaust and has thinner tires. oh and fairing in the front mostly is different
I suspect u posted the wrong pic. It certainly looks more like a Ninja Zx6r to me. Based on the position of the exhaust, the larger size of body, the 2 sided front disc brake. Ninja 250r has only one sided front disc brake.

I had the Kawasaki a few years ago and it was one hell of a machine. I need to get on the bike soon I’m missing it so much
It’s true that it’s bike has a voice of it’s own and the same do humans. Anyway, this is going to be the bike of my next purchase hehe. Always wanted to have something like this. Flying by the wind…

Hi this is most certainly not a 250R NINJA ..more like a 2007 ZX 6R, for all the above reasons of it not being small enough to be a 250R the tyre is huge compared to a standard 130/70 17 rear for a 250R….under tail exhuast is not for a 250R the colour tone is definately a 6R or a 10R unless this was custom painted and a 250R is sporty but not this sporty & by the way the 2009 Ninja 250R wieghts in at 152.27 kg or 335 lbs..cheers
Is this bike better than a Harley or what?
I hate to spoil the fun, but that bike isn’t a Ninja 250. Note it has dual rear disk breaks and dual front disk breaks. It also has a under mounted exhaust. Sorry folks that is a ninja zx-10 1000cc supersport bike not a ninja 250r.
